Monday Question: What's Said About You Elsewhere?

This Monday's question won't be answered on your own website, which is the point:

What does a directory listing you haven't touched in three years say about your business right now?

AI assistants cross-reference. Your site is one voice among many, and an old, wrong, easy-to-parse listing can outweigh your own current homepage if it's structured more clearly than your latest update.

The mechanism is the same one covered in why your website's own crawlability decides what an AI can find, just extended past your own site to everywhere else you're mentioned. Same question as what ChatGPT already says about you, just aimed at the sources feeding that answer instead of the answer itself.

Search your business name today and look past your own site. What's the oldest, most confidently wrong thing you find?

Mapping every source that shapes an AI's answer about a business is the audit I run for clients. Get in touch if you'd rather map it than guess.
