Monday Question: Would You Cite Yourself?
This Monday's question is a test you can run on your own homepage in thirty seconds:
If a stranger saw one sentence from your site with no context, would it still mean something?
Lift the first real sentence off your homepage and read it alone. "Significantly faster" or "industry-leading" fails this test instantly. A specific claim, a real number, a plain statement of what you do, survives it.
That's not a copywriting nicety. It's literally what AI systems extract when they cite a source, the same sources covered in where these answers actually come from. Same test behind what ChatGPT already says about you: a wrong sentence is just as citable as a right one.
Run the test on your own homepage today. If nothing passes, that's the fix to make this week.
Auditing whether a site's actual content is quotable, not just present, is part of every review I run. Get in touch if you want yours checked.
